This is important especially for those who compile Thunder&Lightning themselves. The patches needed to make TnL work with the Io scripting language have been accepted into the main Io distribution. With a current TnL downloaded from darcs, the specially patched Io version is not needed anymore. Development of TnL and Io will continue in parallel, with every TnL release supporting the Io version of the same date until Io starts releasing stable versions. Fonts ReplacedPrevious releases of TnL have contained rendered versions of commercial fonts. These have been replaced by DejaVu fonts to be on the safe side legally. If you know of any thematically fitting fonts under GPL or LGPL license to improve TnL's looks, please let me know about it. Graphical User InterfaceI have started incorporating a library called Crazy Eddie's GUI (CEGUI) in a separate fork of TnL. There is still much work to do, but the aim is to at least have a main menu, a mission selector and a configuration dialog for the next release. |
