Development is up to speed again while I have some evening hours left. There is already support for a scripted tutorial mission guiding the first-time player through the most important controls. Much work has been done on keeping up with the development of the Io VM, the game's scripting engine. Right now, I'm trying to fix a show-stopping bug that occurred in conjunction with the scripting, where objects had been freed despite being referenced.

The new release of Thunder&Lightning features smoothly chasing views which bring a lot of fun and dynamic into the game. Experient with it: F1 ... F6! Don't forget that you can control other units and even the tanks by pressing the N key. Switch off the AI pilot with A.

A missile warning will now alert you of incoming missiles, so you have time to evade.

Also, performance enhancements make the game much more playable.

Update: Windows version uploaded now.

What is Thunder&Lightning?

The Lightning, a small fighter craft

Thunder&Lightning is a futuristic action flight simulator and realtime strategy game that takes place in a large 3D environment. Jump into the pilot seat of your Lightning aircraft and fight against Thunder tanks in a fierce battle for control of the island!

Apart from flight simulators, Thunder&Lightning takes inspiration from (but is not a clone or remake of) the 80's classic Carrier Command. This means that you will find yourself in control of a futuristic carrier with aircraft and amphibious tanks at your disposal. In the long run, there will be multiple Islands to conquer, each with its own defense strategy.

Although Thunder&Lightning already supports missions, it aims to be an open-ended game with a dynamically developing world with scripted events on some occasions.

Thunder&Lightning is released under the GNU General Public License.
